Acrylic is a method of nail extension. Using a sable brush, a mixture of powder and liquid is applied to the natural or tipped nail. Acrylic nails are strong, durable and can be worn for 2 -3 weeks before maintenance (infills) is necessary. Acrylics have the advantage of being very strong and hard-wearing. Acrylic is the perfect method for reconstructing problem, misshapen or badly bitten nails.

There Are Two Main Types Of Acrylic Nails;

Sculptured or Tipped.

Sculptured Nails

Sculptured nails are formed with acrylic liquid andpowder layered to achieve desired nail form. This is especially useful for badly bitten or problem nails as acrylic is used to reconstruct the natural nail.

Tips

A plastic nail extension is applied with resin. Acrylic is overlaid to strengthen and bond. A choice of standard or a white tip, for that french look without polish, is available.

Do's and Don'ts

  1. Always wear rubber gloves when using bleaches, etc.
  2. Do not use your NAILS as tool e.g opening cans etc.
  3. Use the correct nail polish remover, a non-acetone remover is recommended even on the natural nail
  4. Do not change your polish too often, once a week is enough as polish will last on acrylic nails for at least two to three weeks.
  5. You can use any make of polish.
  6. Cuticle Oil is a must to keep your nail extensions flexible and strong. Used once a day it is a good conditioner for your cuticle area and the natural nail

When you have nail extensions they will look natural and feel very strong. To keep them this way, Depending on your natural nail growth, a infill will be required every two to three weeks. Your technician would have worked hard to create your nail extensions for you but you must do your bit to look after them!.
