My parents, George Adney BROOKES and Winifred Elizabeth Joyce NORTON were both raised in Wellington. They married there on 28/01/1921 and came to Australia in 1926. My father's parents were George Francis BROOKES b.1/08/1851 d1923?, and Elizabeth ADNEY b.24/101851 d.25/11/1941. Elizabeth' parents were John ADNEY m. 30/10/1830 to Elizabeth BROOKES?. Unfortunately, my parents died in 1944 and 1952 respectively. I recall my parents speaking of lots of names but nothing was ever recorded I have various newspaper cuttings saved from my parents archives. They mention:-
Richard ADNEY b.1850 d. Sept 1936. Farmed at High use Farm until 1933.
Sir John ADNEY Lilleshal .
Noel ADNEY - a son -, wife B, ADNEY had a son John.
Mrs. K. ICKE - a daughter.
