MILLICHAMP RESEARCH INTERESTS


My direct ancestral Millichamp line is as follows:

John Millichap. Married Nuell Benboe c. 1668 and had six children: Robert, Mary, John, George, Richard and William, all baptised at Broseley between 1669 and 1688.

Richard Millichap. Baptised in 1684 at Broseley, Shropshire. He married Elizabeth Dewce in 1708 at Abdon, and they had four children, all baptised in Broseley: Richard, Job, Anne and Abraham.

Richard Millichap. Baptised in 1708 at Broseley, Shropshire. He married Mary Crudgington in 1732 at Stoke St. Milborough, and they had four children, all baptised at Abdon: Elizabeth, Milliona, Rhesa and Richard. He died in 1760 and is buried at Bitterley.

Rhesa Millichamp (also spelt Millichap, Millinchap, Millenchap), yeoman. Baptised in 1740, at Abdon, Shropshire. He married Ann Goodman in 1763 at Bitterley, Shropshire, and they had seven children all baptised at Bitterley: Elizabeth, Richard, John, Thomas, Rhesa, William and Francis. Rhesa died in 1793 and is buried at Bitterley.

Thomas Millichamp (spelt Millinchap in his own baptism entry, but Millichamp otherwise), farmer. Baptised 1772 at Bitterley. Married Elizabeth Price in 1792 at Stanton Lacy and had four children, all daughters: Sarah, Mary, Ann and Elizabeth. Wife Elizabeth died in 1811, aged 40, and Thomas remarried to Mary Evans, spinster, in 1815 at Bitterley. He probably died in 1854, aged 82, buried at Bitterley.

Ann Millichamp, my 3xgreat grandmother. Born April 10th, 1803, at Bitterley, Shropshire, the daughter of Thomas Millichamp and Elizabeth (née Price). She married Thomas Froggatt, a farmer, in 1823 at Stoke St. Milborough and had eight children. Froggatt was my mother's maiden name. After living for a while at Ashford Bowdler, the family settled in Little Hereford. Ann died in 1884 and is buried at Little Hereford.
