I am a Whittall traced back through Chester/Holyhead/Carno(Montgomeryshire)/Acton Scott(Salop). My great great grandfather Edward Whittall married Margaret Downes at Sibdon Carwood, 6/2/1847. According to the census he was born in Clun about 1825; his father's name was Edward also, but I can not trace him through the parish records. My cousin who lives in Nottingham thinks he came from Church Stretton but has no proof, but this also fits in with my father's recollections. He is still alive living in Chester (age 86). I live in New Zealand having moved here in 1987.

It's sometime since we last contacted each other. I was then looking for EDWARD WHITTALL IN SHROPSHIRE.
Well I managed to track EDWARD (AGE 60) down living is BURNLEY on the 1881 census with his wife MARGARET(DOWNES) and son ANDREW H. WHITTALL(age 16) the place of birth was shown as KIDBURY an after many hours of research we still couldn't find this place in Shropshire, but what I have found is
