Character Portrait

Before the Montaigne Revolution, LePrev’s family were one of the wealthiest merchant families in the Lierre-Vallee region. Although not of noble blood they had extensive holdings and could afford a lifestyle almost as opulent as some nobles. Michel benefited from this background. This developed an arrogant disdain of the peasant class, but also a simmering hatred of the royalist structures which prevented his family from gaining a true position of influence. He embraced the Revolution and personally lead attacks on the royal holdings near his home. His actions were noted by leaders of the Revolution and he now works for the National Parlement, tasked with hunting down remaining members of the noble classes and ensuring that they have no chance of returning to threaten the post-revolution regieme.

Eisen’s warriors have frequently found employment in the service of nations, guilds and societies across Theah. Fraulein von Witte has also taken to life as a mercenary, hiring her skills in battles of politics and intrigue. Nobody knows this deadly beauty’s real name though it seems clear that the fraulein has spent time in several royal courts and she is in possession of private details concerning most of Eisen’s royal families. However she prefers to work for foreign nobles and is thought to have access to a small fortune through the Vendel Merchant League. Although not a hired assassin, the fraulein is quite prepared to kill if it means protecting her interests or ensuring the success of a mission. Most of the time she will have spun her web so tightly that her victims are helpless to react when she finally reveals her true loyalties.

Arnaud du Charouse is well aware that Anne du Montaigne has formed a government-in-exile from the safety of Wische and he is taking measures to ensure that her courtiers do not interfere with his own plans for Montaigne. The ploys of Fraulein von Witte and the tenacious work of Michel LePrev should give him a decisive advantage when battling those loyal to the despised aristocracy.
