In the annals of piracy, no one holds a candle to the dreaded Captain Reis, leader of the justily feared Crimson Rogers. Tall and imposing, sporting a bright red coat and long black hair, Reis rarely raises his voice above a whisper. He wields a huge scyth of unknown material which cuts through other metals as easily as paper. The sails of his ship, the 'Crimson Roger', are stained with blood, and no vessel has yet encountered him and survived to tell the tale.

There are many stories surrounding the 'Sea Child'. She is said to be a powerful Unseelie who thrieves by devouring spirits of the drowned. Popular tales hold that she is the daughter of Maab, Queen of the Sea, and has dispensation from Maab to build a court of her own in the waters off Avalon. She usually takes the form of a child, about eleven or twelve years old, with skin the faint green of the drowned, seaweed in her hair, and soaked clothes that never dry.

When the Inismore pirate, Sean O'Brien, was foolish enough to raid Reis' treasure horde on the hidden Skull Island, Reis swore to hunt down and destroy the 'Princess Bride' and all its crew. In an effort to avoid death at Reis' hands, O'Brien travelled to Bryn Bresail and made a bargain with the Sidhe Queens. Meryth was furious when Maab's attention was diverted from her own war against Elaine. To get her ambitions back on course, the Unseelie child has made a pact to help Reis destory O'Brien.
