THIS IS MY SLOTS PAGE Let's cut the clap and show some pictures! All the following cars are home made creations to one level or another, my favourite format is to use a 1/32 model kit and stick it on a plastic chassis, but I am moving on to bigger things, such as vac-formed bodies and resin castings, but more of that at a later date! Bmw csl with different wheels, and new motor, minimal work to get going.
Airfix e-type, my first conversion, almost brings a tear to the eye! Using TR7 chassis to get the right wheelbase and Ninco wire wheels, the johnson 111 motor sticks up where the interior should be, so I stuck a roof on.
A vast improvement, these two revell cobras are sitting on Porsche 911 chassis, have full interiors with drivers, mabuchi s type motors, adjustable magnets, and scalextric diablo wheels. This is currently my preferred method of building, as nothing beats them on my plastic track
The same formula is applied to this pair of beetles, surprisingly quick for their high centre of gravity (Ninco 356 wheels)
Another step forward in mine and your slot learning is the use of Vac formed bodies, I bought a massive pile of these from Patto in australia, What a choice! Some people are not keen on the finish, but they are sometimes the only way you can get a particular body, and they are very quick to do, here's a couple of my first attempts
My next phase of car building is producing my own bodies from resin castings, I used to own a Triumph herald convertible (must dig out the photos, nobody beleives the paint job when I describe it to them) so like most people my age I would like to revisit my youth on the home track
