The HSC was at one time based at the Youth Hostel at Bradwell on Sea. Bradwell was an excellent sailing base with the Blackwater and Coln estuaries both within a day's sail. Unfortunately Bradwell Hostel was closed long ago, followed in due course by both Maldon hostel and Colchester hostel. Dear YHA - can we have some more youth hostels along the Essex coast please!!
