The author designed and built this boat with dinghy cruising in mind. It is self draining and has plenty of dry baggage space. The centreboard is ballasted with quite a lot of lead which, together with a rather more 'barrel shaped' hull section than normal, makes it self righting from over 90 degrees of heel - in theory anyway. The picture was taken in '99 from on board an accompanying HSC Wayfarer dinghy as we sailied through Harwich harbour. This is now reckoned to be the busiest port in the UK. The objects in the distance are cranes for loading containers onto ships but the harbour was surprisingly empty of ships that day.
