Snowdonia marathon was held this year on Saturday 24 October 2009 in wet and windy conditions for the start of the race, as the race proceeded it became dry, and towards the end for the late runners it became wet once again.
Two Sarn Helen members won their age category in the race, Murray Kisbee in the over 60’s, and Monica Barlow over 55’s, also S4C followed Gareth and Jan Jones on their training before the marathon.
The first runner back for the club was Glyn Price in 16th position in an excellent time of 3 hours 1 minute 54 seconds, and was 4th vet 40. 61 – Mark Dunscombe 3 hours 21 minutes 44 seconds, 104 – Huw Price 3 hours 28 minutes 48 seconds, 120 - Murray Kisbee 3 hours 31 minutes 33 seconds, 146 – Haydn Lloyd 3 hours 35 minutes 16 seconds, 280 - Eric Rees 3 hours 50 minutes 17 seconds, 330 – David Thomas 3 hours 55 minutes 49 seconds, 656 - Monica Barlow 4 hours 16 minutes 42 seconds, 815 – Gareth Jones 4 hours 29 minutes 56 seconds, 824 Caryl Davies 4 hours 30 minutes 51 seconds, 1056 – Jan Jones 4 hours 52 minutes 42 seconds, 1215 – Gudrun Jones 5 hours 22 minutes 28 seconds, and 1264 – Dinah Jones 5 hours 40 minutes 35 seconds.
