The Band...

saying 'If you don't like it get your half crown back and **** OFF!'" - John Lee.

"That's not true - I NEVER offered anyone a refund!" - Brian Higham.

The Day the Harbour Lights nearly went out...!!

The history of the band and where the name came from is covered on the Royal Oak page, but even after they'd chosen the name it looked like they may loose it again!

New Zealand may have given us Peter Jackson, The All Blacks, Lord of the Rings etc. but 40 years earlier they also gave the world another Harbour Lights!! With national coverage on 'Ready, Steady - Win!' and the release of the album a name change at that stage could've been disatrous so Brian, John and Mike approached their publisher Keith Prowse Music to see where they stood. They needn't have worried because, as it turned out, KPM owned the copyright to "the old song of the same name" - which ironically, is where the bands name came from in the first place!! It's a funny old world...

And where are they now? Well, everyone wants to know....
