Ray One - Will / Power
![]()

Let us remember that ~ Ray~ is but a name for a particular force or type of energy, with the emphasis upon the quality which that force exhibits and not upon the form aspect which it creates. The seven primordial energies are beyond complete, exact depiction in words, or even in thoughts on the planes of this world.

The First Ray is the causal focus of life. It is the Will-to-Be, and as it acts through the Second Ray energy of our solar system. it may also be called the "Will to be Love". Yet the First Ray is also know as the Lord of Death, the Destroyer of Forms.
Under the First Ray is power; all instigating power including the power to heal, although the direct impulse to be a healer comes under the Second Ray. The First Ray destroys as far as man’s acceptance of limitation will allow it. Acceptance is the positive keyword here. It is the passivity required to release creative potential. Bear in mind the monad announces death (earth plane-transition) to the ego and not the body.
The First Ray is the energy of God the Father. In the face of death it provides the will to defy it. In fact to defy all limitation. Here we have an inwardly directed ray, as are also the Second and Third rays. Through this intensified energy, national, international and intergalactic affairs are willed. However, First Ray energy we are receiving now has been subdued since its original force was released. Under the focus of this will-purpose energy the ~first-ray~ man strives to begin. It is the will to make manifest. It is a dominant ray where initiation comes into play.
Once man finds his identity and fixes his attention on a purpose, he then champions his fellow men, as did theosophist Alice Bailey, with First Ray well developed. This Ray bestows the will to put down the sword, to set desire aside and to accept sacrifice. Incentive under the focus of the First Ray is unbridled. It is holding energy, the calling forth of all that is spiritual and ever striving to begin.
The First Ray instils the life purpose with a fighting quality which the individual knows is bestowed on him from the highest source. For him no task is too great. He has assessed his talents and recognised his leadership abilities. Regardless of setbacks his determination is unyielding. He carries on despite all obstacles. He digests each experience as a lesson. He has the strength to attain, to conquer, because he is pre-conditioned to accept his own creative potential. He is stimulated by adversity.Aries {Initiative), Leo (Will-purpose) and Capricorn {Mystery of life} are the assigned triad. Benefic Vulcan is the Sacred planet, its virtue being willpower. The first ray is overruled by the world master and the Master Morya. The Kingdom of the First Ray is Shambala, "the Place where the Will of God is known".
