current version: foo_looks 2.0 (public beta)
foo_looks is one of many 3rd-party plugins for the popular audio player 'Foobar2000'.
What's more, in keeping with the spirit of Foobar2000, the plugin is totally free.
It was developed over a period of about 3 months, after a forum request for a more compact and graphically-rich GUI - similar to those featured on other popular players (winamp/WiMP/etc...)
When version 1.0 was released (a few months ago), foo_looks was advanced enough to mimic the typical winamp 2.x interface. However, we could do much more that mimic it, because, unlike 2.x skins, we had the freedom to make our 'looks' any size we liked, we could place our buttons anywhere we liked, and we could integrate the powerful 'TagZ' formatting language for when we displayed text fields.
since releasing 1.0, danZ has continued to improve the plugin, in the form of the numerous 1.x builds.
Each build added gradually more & more features, until danZ realised that there was a whole world of interactive possiblities available by utilising the LUA scripting language; a means of extending a language by adding c-style functions and loops.
, and it has now reached version 2.0; a significant landmark in it's evolution.
