                        Post-1837 Civil Registration Certificates (BMDs)

                        We are able to obtain these from the local registrar on your behalf. It is not usually

                         necessary to provide the GRO reference when ordering from a local registrar. The

                         partner's name (where known) would be of help in requests involving a marriage

                         certificate.

                       

                        Census Returns

                        Although much of the census material from 1851 onwards is now available online,

                        it is appreciated that not everyone has ready access to the Internet or wishes to take

                        out expensive subscriptions to web sites that carry it. Plymouth local studies library

                        holds copies of the local census returns and there are name indexes that we can often

                        utilise to reduce search time and costs to the client.
