ENVIRONMENT : Wildlife

The Environmental Statement details the state of plants and wildlife in the area, together with the predicted effects of constructing a hydro scheme. On land, species closely monitored include mosses, lichens, trees, mammals, birds and insects. During water studies, we closely observe water dwelling plants, fish and in some cases mammals such as the Otter.

river and small water fall

An example demonstrating our commitment to wildlife protection may be seen at the Aberdulais power scheme. The inclusion of a fish pass allowed salmon to climb the falls and spawn in the extensive upper reaches of the river, thereby much increasing the fishery potential of the catchment.
