Rachael's interest in
music started at a young age whilst living in Gibraltar,
beginning with the Violin and then the Clarinet. On
returning to the UK she began to play the piano at the
age of eleven with Mrs Angela Ross. She then went on to
study with Mrs Creaser in Oxford. At the same time she
began singing lessons with Rodney Bennet and joined the
Oxford Girls Choir which was run by the Oxford Music
Faculty of Oxford University, and conducted by Richatrd
Vendome. While with the choir, they toured France and
sang in Notre Dame Cathedral and Chartres. She then went
on to sing with the Oxforshire Youth Chamber Choir
before studying music for 3 years at Colchester
Institute.
Whilst studying for her
music degree, she also achieved Grade 8 singing and
studied for, and passed her A.L.C.M. Diploma at the
London College of music in 1993.
Since then, as well as
teaching piano, and being a full time mother to two
young boys, she has played for The Guilsfield Singers,
and still plays for Buttington and District Amateur
Operatic Society, Kelsborrow Choir and Whitchurch
Operatic Society. |
