HOY

Photos of Rackwick on the island of Hoy.  The Hoy hills dominate the skyline in Orkney as this is the island with the highest hills, just short of a mountain.

These photos were taken in Rackwick which is at the North end of the island.  Rackwick has a truly wild feel about it at any time of the year.  The "Old Man of Hoy" is famous the world over.  Even today it is seen as a challenging climb.  Each summer climbers from around the world arrive to face the challenge.  For those wanting less exertion there are many coastal sights to take in, and although the path is steep, access to view the Old Man from the land is relatively easy, and you will be rewarded with beautiful views.
