Once I get to know you in person, I
can help you:
By commenting upon your current collection of speeches;
Find speeches that are suitable for you;
With your choices of where to apply;
Get the best from your chosen speeches;
Help you with your overall presentation - believe me, this can
make the difference between success and failure.
At no extra charge I will:
Supply you with tea, coffee or any other reasonable liquid refreshment;
Supply you with suggested speeches;
Answer further questions by e-mail;
If necessary, collect you from (and return you to) my local station
when you come to see me.
In addition:
I have a large room within which we can work;
I have a large library of plays;
I have a huge collection of audition speeches;
Frequently asked questions:
"How much time will I need?": This varies so
much - and I adapt according to individual circumstances. Probably
the most usual route to success is periodic sessions spread out
over around 6 months - with a good amount of time between each
- before sending off your applications. On the other hand, a significant
minority only need one session - in order to refine the speeches
they've already got.
How far "north of London"?: By train I'm 20-30minutes
from King's Cross and by car I'm about 20-minutes from the junction
of the M25 & A1(M).
Contacting me: I find e-mail the best means of first contact
- if things are in writing there is much less chance of misunderstandings.
Please note: I am not a voice and/or movement expert, but these are skills that you go to drama school to learn. Auditioners want to see sufficient "evidence of thought and feeling behind the actions and words" (just one definition) - detailed work on your body & voice are a fundamental part of the training.
