Singalto
Merlyn
preparing for the high
life!
Rosie's first litter produced five gorgeous kittens. This was 'my' first litter and what excitement there was when they appeared. The problems came when it was time to look for new homes - how on earth could I let them go! What a relief it was when they all went to lovely people who I knew would care for them. Merlyn lives with Celia Leighton and has great fun with Harvey the dog. Arthur is with Christine Thomas, who always makes a point of talking to me about him when I see her at shows, Lancelot went to live with my son - so I'm able to see and cuddle him on a regular basis and Dinadan lives with a friend's daughter in Bristol. As for Guenevere, well as the only girl in the litter - she stayed with me and can be seen on the Meet the Girls page.

Singalto King Arthur - with his 'friend'
What a handsome chap,
so pleased Christine Thomas let me put this photograph on my web site, it's
lovely to see 'your babies' when they grow up!

Singalto Lancelot Dulac
And this is 'Lance' - another handsome chappie!

Singalto Marryin Sam
Singalto
Daisy Mae!

Singalto Earthquake McGoon!
(or is it Singalto Marryin Sam?)
As you can see, by the time Rosie had her
second litter I'd decided to adopt a theme for litter names, that of characters
from musicals, further cementing the link between the two main areas of my
life. I wish I could say it was easier parting with the kittens this
time. Unfortunately, as I'm sure you'll all know, it doesn't actually get
any easier. I had to call in expert help from Alan Edwards before
registering Daisy Mae, I'd never seen anything like her so had no idea what
colour to register her as! I then decided to keep her - how on earth could I let
her go? Again I was very lucky with homes for the other babies, Earthquake
McGoon went to my sister in Essex, Little Abner is with a lovely lady in
Lowestoft - who just lives for her cats and Marryin Sam is living the life of
luxury in a 16th century converted farm house in Cambridgeshire.

BARNUM
LITTER
CH Singalto Lady
Guenevere x Porteous Rondo Alaturk

Singalto Barnum
Barnum was the only kitten in Jenny's first and only litter. He's a beautiful Cream Tabby and as he went to live with friends I've been able to continue to have loads of cuddles! Isn't it wonderful when a kitten chooses their new family. My friend Margaret had no thoughts of getting a cat at the time but Barnum attached himself to her from the first minute he saw her. As the rest of us know - Margaret had no chance after that! He has really fallen on his feet and has become an important member of their family. To see him trying to play 'hide and seek' but giving himself away with his loud purring - has to be seen to be believed! Barnum has also proved to be an excellent ambassador for the breed - as you will see when you read all about George M!
Barnum won BOB kitten at the National in 2000, obviously to the delight of my friends Margaret and Colin Mudd.

Premier Singalto Barnum
What a handsome boy - Barnum aged two.
What excitement when he gained his third Premier Certificate
at the Eastern Counties Cat Society show in August 2002!

GEORGE
M LITTER
Singalto Daisy Mae
x Aljora Champagne Supernova

Singalto George M
At the National Show in 2000 I kept finding myself being drawn back to a particular pen. I fell in love with the beautiful cream boy and was delighted when John Rawlings and Tracey Stannard said I could take my Daisy to him. The result was George M. What can I say about George! He's a gorgeous Cream boy and an absolute tinker!!!! The above picture was taken before his eyes changed colour, they are now a deep amber. Unfortunately I lost two kittens from this litter, so I suppose I spoilt him (as you do). He talks (continually) and is so confident in himself he expects everyone to want him. My biggest concern was that he had been 'booked' before he was born by a neighbour of my friends Colin and Margaret. How would she take to a kitten who 'never shut up' and insisted on poking his nose into anything and everything she was doing. Plus, by the time it was time for him to go to his new home - I'd fallen hopelessly in love with him. All my dire warnings about how badly behaved he was fell on to deaf ears I'm afraid and he duly went to his new home. For the next two days I waited for a telephone call telling me to come and pick him up again. No such luck, the only call I had was to tell me he had settled in, pulled down her patio net curtains (laugh, laugh), insisted on sitting on her lap on the toilet and slept in her bed!

'CALAMITY
JANE' LITTER
(CH Taliesin Sister
Sarah x GR CH Porteous Clockwork Orange)

Singalto
Calamity Jane
'Come and help me find that blessed ball!'
Singalto Katy Brown
'You must be joking - I'm much too
comfortable
here'
These two photographs do
not tell the true story! In reality it is Katy Brown who is always wanting
to play - and Calamity Jane who is never happier than when she's curled up on my
lap. Katy Brown is a real character, so full of fun that she keeps me
amused all day, climbing up on my lap when she's tired.
She has gone to live with a lovely young couple in Essex. Strangely the
girl played 'Katy Brown' when her local amateur operatic society did the show
'Calamity Jane'. As for Calamity Jane herself, although she has a
striking head and shape, and a cream tabby pattern that needs to be seen to be
believed, she does have a problem with one of her eyes. She is going to
live with one of my closest friends and will be a much loved and spoilt member
of the family.
