Ok so you've convinced me to drag my Pace from it's understairs exile, but if it hurls me over the bars one more time and smashes my knees into pulp, the warranty department is just going to see neat little cubes. One by one.
Nice site hows the gas pumpin going you typical random sonofabitch?

waddya want me to say? "one speed is all you need?" "less gears, more beers?"all i can truly say is it's getting harder and harder to go back to my geared bikes after riding single (both road and mountain). commuting, group rides, urban assualt, all of it is more fun when you don't have to worry about shifting. hills, however, are not. oh well, i always wanted to have my knees replaced. ...anyway, nice site. i like seeing MY gear ratio posted!

AWESOME Singlespeed and mountain biking site you have here! I'm very envious of the SS scene you have over there on the other side of the pond. Would love to come over and get schooled on the trails by a bunch of British SSers.
Keep up the good work and be "one" with your bike.
We try.

its better to come in last on a single
than to finish first sandbaggin'
You have obviosuly seen my race results. Last in every Sports class race I entered for years. Even used to enter under team name "is last". (If you can't understand why just think about how that looks in the results). The ultimate award - last place in the last race of last millenium, the UK singlespeed championships at Cheddar. Here at 32:sixteen we are proud to hold the "Slowest Singlespeeder In The World" record. Just remember that last place still counts. You think that's easy? No you still have to haul your sorry ass round the same circuit as everyone else. And there is as much competition to get that last place as there is to get first. Lurking, politeness, and off track diversions to the tea tent have all been used as dirty tricks.

Joining the ss domain after years of abstinence.Got a 1961 Schwinn Jaguar at the town dump and am converting it from an SA AW 3-speed to a Shimano coaster brake rear hub. (final drive cog UDT)I'll send you a pic when it is done.Thomas / Boston, MA / September 2000
We like your recycling style. A couple years ago, for one of those birthdays with a zero in it, my missus got me a second hand 1970's cool Raleigh Chopper - think Schwinn Orange Krate. Unfortunately the SA 3 speed gears were missing a few vital parts, but every time I went to the dump I took along my Cool-Tool and sure enough before long I was able to get all the parts I needed to give my one-speed some gears.

Virgin MTB single speed rider on this end. Long time road racer and track racer, love the fixed gear on the track and for spring training. Considered trying the fixed gear on the trail but decided that might be a bit dangerous. Fun site and the info found on the site was very vaulable in the errection of my single.
We've never been called useful before...

Hi, I feel I fit in here. I own a singlespeed, a tandem and a bob. Thanks for reminding people how much fun riding a bike can be.
It's not supposed to be fun it's supposed to hurt Goddammit. Oh, sorry, that's racing. Yeah riding a bike is supposed to be fun.
