Text Box: Clothing was a very important part of life and not just because of keeping warm and dry. It also showed who you were and what your status was by careful use of colour, quality and type of material used. Style was important just as it is today. Within Feudal Archers you will see a cross section of society with styles and fashions from a 50 year period. Not everyone could or wanted to keep up with fashion and some just lead it.
The main materials available for clothing were wool, linen, silk and leather. The first three were used as cloth and the leather for making belts, shoes and some armour. Leather clothing was unlikely or at the most improbable due to cost and the availability of the other three, little or no evidence exists for leather clothing in this period.
The following links are intended to give a better idea on clothing from the 12th century and will be added to as and when possible.
