Text Box: David, who is a Byzantine knight, has joined the household of de Braose after fighting alongside Sir Nicholas at Acre. He comes to England with little more than the clothing he stands in, but impressed Sir Geffrye and Sir Richard with his fighting skills, so has been invited by Lady Matilda to run her manor in Paull near Hull. David has taken to hunting with the English bow, a weapon that he had not seen before 1190, and is becoming quite good at European archery.
David normally wears the silk cotte that he was lent by Sir Geffrye on their return from the Holy lands as he feels it is what is expected of him.
He hopes, one day, to join Sir Geffrye and Sir Richard with a knighthood in England. Until that time he maintains his skills with the sword and shield with regular practice.
In the accompanying pictures you can see him with his favoured Scythian bow, a weapon that he is more accustomed to using in his native Byzantinium.
