Ever heard the Upton Stick Dance performed to Blues, or Molly to the Stones?

You have now . . .

In early 2000, a group of dancers and musicians from all types of backgrounds came together to perform and have a good time.

The emphasis of Flash Company is FUN. If you're not enjoying what you're doing - why do it?

We all enjoyed dancing and playing and wanted to combine the two, but not necessarily the traditions. The side dance to various styles of music, with all members actively encouraged to bring their own ideas and views to the side - if it works we'll use it, if it doesn't we find something else.

Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Folk and Cajun are amongst our musical influences, and they are not fixed to a style of dance. If the Rolling Stones fits an Appalachian dance then we use it - if not, how about to a Border dance?
