Unfortunately, this will be the
last update to the News page. Due
to the pressures of work I am
now unable to spare the time to
do any more work on the Thief
universe. I am laying down my
pen with great regret, but
hopefully what I’ve already done will
be enough for those interested
in learning about Thief.
As a bonus leaving gift, I’ve
uploaded to the website many odds and
ends – works that I never
completed, or never even got beyond the
first few paragraphs. There is also some resources that might
interest
people – a list of the nobility
in the City, and the beginnings of a
comprehensive encyclopaedia I
was writing. Enjoy!
I’d like to thank all those who
wrote and praised my Theses, Treatises
and stories over these past few
years, and those who offered suggestions
or advice that was very
welcome. It’s been great writing for
you.

Announcing a new line of Keeper
Treatises!
Having moved through two –
sometimes three – revisions of the
Keeper Treatises, I’ve decided
it’s time to set them in stone. This
is in light of both the
desirability of doing so, and the fact that
commitments have forced me to
curtail much of my work on Thief.
These new works – the
‘Definitive Treatises’ – are intended to stand
as my final word on the
subject. I’ll be writing them over a
period of
several months, and they will be
in a different format to the others;
shorter, snappier, and on much
more tightly focused topics.
The work in progress at the
moment is ‘Politics and Power: Government
in the City’, and I hope to have
it finished at the end of the year.
After
that will come several more that
should complete the series, and mark
the end of my writing.
Check back here regularly for
updates!

New links fixed, and pages
reformatted for easier viewing
at 800 x 600. The Keeper Library has been featured on ‘The
Circle
Of Stone And Shadow’ [http://www.thief-thecircle.com/]
and has been
added to its links section as a
Recommended Link. Here’s what they
had to say about it:
Equal parts game info and fanfiction, the
Keeper's Library is
your greatest source of Thief Universe Lore
on the web - just
remember - much of it is based on
conjecture, rather then hard
information from the games.
Thanks to all the guys at The
Circle for their kind words!
On another note, it’s been
brought to my attention that another
website has used my work without
my permission and without
crediting me. I’m fine with people using the Treatises on
their own
websites, but I would appreciate
being consulted first. Apart from
pure courtesy, some of the
Treatises are in the process of being
rewritten, and so what is on the
website might not represent my
latest thoughts; I’d need to
tell you which ones though.
