The Art Of Michiru Yuki

My seven year old autistic son is a talented artist. He likes to concentrate on buildings and maps of the world. All these pictures are drawn freehand with no visual aid other than what he has seen in a book or in visits to those places.

The artist himself. He's a Metallica fan and thinks that every time a camera is pointed at him, he should do the devil sign.

Go here for a page of quotes and funnies from Michi and his brothers.

Click on the smaller picture to see the full size version. Newer pictures at the bottom, although the Kay Mason pic is at the top.

This is the masthead for the Kay Mason Foundation that he was asked to draw. He's very pleased with himself and is happy that he can do something to help other children.
His first picture, drawn when he was two years old. He already has a rudimentary knowledge of perspective.
Drawn when he was four. He normally avoids drawing human figures. This was one of the first instances when he did so.
His first attempt at the Golden Gate Bridge, a structure he has remained fascinated with.
This picture was drawn entirely freehand and from memory at five years old.
Watching Mars Attacks and visiting Stonehenge very soon after, prompted this picture when he was five.
Another drawing of the Golden Gate Bridge, drawn this year at age six.
A church drawn last year.
And another picture of the Golden Gate Bridge. This one was being destroyed by a volcano erupting below it. I think, inspired by another film.
Another building he has had a long love affair with - the Chrysler Building in New York. This was drawn when he was three.
He also has a fascination for Klingon War Birds from Star Trek.
This picture of the Basillica in Moscow was drawn when he was five and is amazing in its detail, despite the crude line drawing.
This was drawn recently. The detail is much finer and more controlled.
This picture is less than an inch across.
An attempt at copying a picture drawn by a friend. He never finished it, but it had promise.
This was drawn today (14th Feb 2001) Unusual angle, but I also like the Klingon space ship flying past and the strange curly thing on the left - whatever it is.
He likes spiders too. Drawn Last week
This one made me laugh. The boy has a pretty sick sense of humour.
I liked this volcano because of the lava running down the side.
His newest version of St Basil's in Moscow.
It's that bridge again.
Something different. A Lancaster bomber being attacked by fighter planes.
This picture of a village next to an airport, is only 4 inches long and one inch high on the paper.
He loves the Egyptian mythology which is part of our religion, so he drew a scene from the Egyptian Book Of The Dead.
