HTML GuideWhy? Why not? Yes there are plenty of HTML guides out there in Netland, but most are written by web professionals. I stress I am not a web professional. Just someone who wanted to create some simple, but effective web pages. I spent many hours surfing trying to fit all the bits and pieces together. There are some very good sites out there, but the main problem I found was that either they'd only focus on one particular area, or else they'd give far too much information for my purposes. The aim of this guide will be to try and condense all I know into some (hopefully) easy to understand lessons, from Basic HTML, to Stylesheets to DHTML to javascript, and hopefully encourage you all to go and do your own pages. Some points to bear in mind: a) I am not a professional. I may use the wrong terms, I may go the long way about things, I may even be occasionally wrong. I apologise in advance. b) Microsoft and Netscape differ in their implementations of various aspects of these topics. It was hard enough learning one set of rules, let alone two. For that reason, I can only guarentee that the things I am saying will only work in IE4 and above. Sorry everyone else. As I learn more, I will attempt to address this. c) I am still learning myself. If you have any advice, tips or things you want to see included, please, please, please, let me know. Finally, I hope you find something here that helps or something that encourages you to take the plunge with a web page of your own.
