How I first came across Sean Storm will become more apparent as you read this interview, however it was in connection with when I first started reviewing gay porn films for Homoactive. Since then I have been aware of Sean on the net ever since and once I started doing gay porn interviews knowing that I could e-mail Sean from his web site I decided to ask him if he would do this interview for me. You can imagine that once he agreed I was quite excited about it to say the least. So what was it like growing up in Chillicothe, any interesting or funny boy hood happenings you can share with your fans?: Growing up in Chillicothe was for the most part pretty mundane. Though I am sure if I'd have had friends back then I would have found something fun to do growing up. In Chillicothe during your early years there did you find it hard being a loner then and since you spent quite a bit of time in your bedroom (and most teenagers do anyway), what stuff did you think about when you were in your bedroom alone?: I spent a lot of time writing mostly screenplays, even though I didn't know how to format them. I even had my own soap opera and ended up with nearly 1000 episodes of it by the time I graduated from high school. I of course did my homework there, watched television nothing all that exciting. I didn't add jacking off to the bedroom until I turned 16.
Describe what your bedroom was like for instance what posters did you have on the wall, what teenage things were you into at the time etc?: Wow, that was so long ago, I cant recall what was on the walls, hmm!
What was it like being a gay boy at high school and college?: Not so fun in high school and not an issue in college. I didn't accept being gay until I was 24 years old.
Did you get called cute a lot at school and did girls hang around you at all in class?: Maybe in high school, to some degree. I always had better luck with the underclassmen girls. The girls in my class already had their stereotypes about me, so it was easier to get the younger girls to have crushes on me at least until the middle of the year. I also had luck at band camp but once school started up, the 'popularity' bug always kept me away not that I wanted to stay near, either.
Any steamy tales of your college boy and high school boy days you can share with your posy of fans?: I had two homosexual experiences in college both were bareback, which I don't even think existed in our vocabulary yet at that time. So naturally I was worried for the rest of the semester until I was able to wait three months to get tested for HIV. When I tested negative I bargained with God that I would never have another homosexual experience again and for four years I didn't.

MY SHY PHASE (junior high school, high school): It's hard to believe that my 15-year high school reunion is this summer. I sometimes wonder what "Most Likely to Succeed" is doing right now. I couldn't even tell you who it was. That goes to show you how involved I was during my 'wonder years'. I had a real struggle with being able to speak in a social environment, which may stem from my mum's own conflict with not being able to speak socially. But I believe it had more to do with being gay, and not identifying or accepting this part of me, which drove me to many hours ofsolitude in my room. I can't recall a single
best friend from school, and the socializing I did do while growing up was mostly forced, strained, uncomfortable and agonizing, just thinking about it sends shivers down my spine. So going to my reunion would be about as fun as going to the dentist. I would get to say hello to people faking their smiles, but I wouldn't get to stand in the group and smile and say: "remember the time when!", because I never had any of those times to remember.
MY GROWING PHASE: Wow, what a difference the year between high school graduation and first year of college makes. When I went off to college I was, naturally, upset. But it didn't take long before I started joining campus clubs, such as the Residence Hall Association and Hall Government. I was a little awkward the freshman year, but when sophomore year hit, I was at the top of my game. Socially, I had an entire new beginning to interact with people. Gone were the 'labels' that high school brings. To anyone in college, I could have been most likely to succeed from my high school and they would never know the better. So, college was my game and by the time I graduated, I had a 4.00 GPA, had some friends and even managed to be nominated for Homecoming King, representing the Residence Hall Association. What I didn't have was a sex life!
MY COMING OUT PHASE: This occurred the summer after graduation. The colours of the rainbow suddenly got brighter, then came porn, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Those two "bareback" (as we know them today) experiences you had back at college, were they "bareback" through lack of education and inexperience. Or was it really even before the first mutterings of what became one of the biggest things to be talked about from the mid to late 1980's etc?: The experiences took place in 1991. I had had the education so I knew better. But in the moment, I think what took me there was just the fact that I was a sophomore and this guy was a senior and, in those fleeting moments of when it was about to happen, and then did happen, what drove me to not stop was that I didn't want the other guy to think I was prudish or whatever. I did not enjoy the bareback I was freaking out as it was happening, and as soon as I left his place, my whole world fell apart. Other than him, I didn't know anyone who was gay, so I had no one to talk about it with. I didn't even want to admit to myself that I was gay. Plus throwing tests and homework and all the normal stuff into the mix it was just a very dark period of my life.

Another words did you enjoy them and how did they come about etc?: No, I don't feel they were good experiences at all. I ventured into territory where I didn't have a support group to confide in. What made you go for a BS in psychology?: An aptitude test, my original major was Journalism and when I started getting C's in the subject (I was an A student), I freaked out. So I dropped Journalism, saw a career counsellor, an aptitude test was given to me and Psych was one of my strong areas.
What were you planning to do before you became a famous porn star?: The first porn movie offered to me came to me while I was going back to school for a degree in Computer Science. I hated that degree more than any other subject I have ever pursued.
Can you remember your first gay porn film and magazine and if so what were
they?: My first gay movie had Matt Gunther in it, but I don't recall the title. Matt was having sex on what appeared to be a beach, even though it was obviously a set. I think my first magazine was Mandate.

My advice to others is to be yourself you can't change being gay, I certainly tried or rather denied, that left me unhappy in high school and college, So be you, and be proud of you!
Do you think a man should have the choice of wanting to be or not wanting to be circumcised when he is old enough to make the decision, rather than it being made for him at birth by other people?: Hmm, since I don't remember the circumcision as a baby, I am glad I didn't have to experience the knife as a teen or young adult. But on the other hand, I see the validity in being old enough to make that decision. As with lots of customs and traditions, our family was raised for males to be circumcised at birth and because of that, I have no regrets for what was the norm.
What music do you like best and who's your favourite singer or band etc?: Wow, its been so long since I have bought any CD's. I usually just listen to 93.1 on the radio, it's an all dance station, which does get tiresome because they choose what they want you to hear and it is the same songs over and over.
What's your favourite film to date?: I have to say Edward Scissorhands, I identified with his loneliness.

Plus do you usually do the cum scenes after or before the main sex on screen, like they do in some films?: Depends on the studio, and the director some are more demanding of your stamina than others. But for most A-list companies, you can count on spending at least four hours shooting a scene. Most cum shots are done at the end of the fucking which makes no sense to me, because that is at the end of the work day and after six or seven hours, I am usually exhausted. And those clients wrote reviews to that site, which then became seen to the world.
From there that led to other people contacting me, this led to more clients and more reviews and suddenly I am officially an escort.
Have you had any frightening or bad experiences working as an escort if so are you able to expand? Nothing ever frightening but there was a few times where the clients I was with seemed to have a few marbles loose.
Have you any advice for those wanting to, or in some cases needing to go into the escort business?: I would only do it if you really love sex, and making people happy. You also have to not be picky. Almost every client is not going to turn you on, so you have to accept having sex with people you wouldn't normally have sex with. When you aren't into the guy, you have to at least appear to enjoy it. If you have an attitude, you may still do well escorting, but it really isn't good customer service to be a snot to the client. I don't think I had any regrets about the woman, but again, I am Mr Professional and I was most worried that I wasn't going to be able to turn her on, which stressed me out. Was that the first and only time you had tried sex with a woman?: Yes, and I had forgotten all about that until you just reminded me of it, haha.
Did you get to know John Patrick well before he passed away, what was he like as a person?: John Patrick was an interesting guy I only knew him for a short time before he passed away. I was still in the very beginning of my career and I remember him telling me that he didn't think I would ever make it as a porn star. He told me he didn't want me to get mad for his honesty, but he told me that I just didn't have the look that a successful porn star needed. To give you an idea of where this was in my career, it was right around the release of "Playing for Keeps". Of course, then he died and I went on to do a lot of video work and won my Gay Video News Award for Best Solo, etc. In hindsight, it would be nice to get to say "you were wrong, John Patrick", but that seems so shallow knowing that he is now dead.
I notice you get a lot more involved off camera with your porn movies now as well as writing for them, do you see yourself being a director say like "Chi Chi La Rue"?: Not so much like Chi Chi, actually I would like to direct, but I want it to be my own style, whatever that may be.
Once you stop being in front of the camera what would you like to do in the future?: Producing, Directing, Editing, it's all of interest.
Do you plan on writing a book giving us the full accounts of your exciting porn life once you retire from the camera and escorting (I'm sure it would make for one hot read after seeing a few passages from your diary in the John Patrick books)?: Actually, I hadn't planned on doing that but you gave me a great idea there.
How do you feel about the American gay porn industry and the European gay porn industry?: I don't watch any European porn. It's too vanilla and too fake. All you see are pretty boys who can't speak English and who are told to go AHHHH and OHHHH. I guess I just like real guys having real sex, a little edgier than the vanilla stuff out there.
William Higgins was a big gay porn director in the 1970's and 1980's I think some of his films like The Young and The Hung and California Summer were excellent. Do you have any Higgins favourites?: Can't say I have ever seen one of his films. I really don't watch porn that often. I don't even know who the new crop of stars is.
Do you like the USA version of QAF, I think it's Brilliant by the way and I just love Brian's loft now that is so classy gay, LOL?: I enjoyed the UK QAF, and initially didn't like the USA version because I was comparing new people to actors that I already accepted in the roles. But by the end of Season 1, the UK version was an after thought. On the flip side, I stopped watching the USA version after season 2. My take on all of it is to ditch most the cast and take two or three of the characters away from Babylon and transplant them in West Hollywood or New York City, give them a whole new city to explore, basically just keep the show fresh.
Falcon have been involved on QAF USA, do you think you could get in on the act. Would be nice seeing you on QAF stripping in Babylon, maybe even have a quick sex scene in one episode with one of the cast?: I have fantasized about that for a long time. I am not saying I am any better than them for not having my nose up in the air, but I am not "Sean Storm" 24 and 7. I like just being me, and not having to put on a show, or hang out with my co-workers when the cameras aren't rolling. Also keep in mind that I live in Ft Lauderdale, which is the East Coast most porn stars are way over in California in the west coast. So I don't have the opportunity anyway.
Have you turned down any work you wish you later wish you hadn't?: Yes, I wish I had done Rick Tuggers "THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD" for All Worlds Video!
Who was your first love, the man that put the rage in your storm and how did it come about?: Chip Daniels, it happened because our eyes and hearts made it happen. Can't tell you the magic ingredient that brought it about, if I did I would have made sure the ingredient remained in the mix, because Chip and I are no longer together.
Why do some porn company's insist on dubbing in moans and groans, this I find can be so off putting, I much prefer the soundtrack apart from music to be real time?: I agree any time something obviously APPEARS to be fake, such as when you know the dubbing of moans and groans isn't real, or looping the same footage over and over again, makes the viewer aware that they are being tricked, which is never good.
"FREAKS AND GEEKS" that was a brilliant show on TV, but I never knew it at the time because I didn't watch it. Now I have the luxury to watch the whole collection over the course of a weekend/week or however long it takes me that's how I fill in my leisurely gaps between work projects.
Have you ever been here to the United Kingdom before and would you like to do a gay porn film over here?: Internationally, I have only been to Paris. I would love to visit the UK from what Chip Daniels has told me, I am somewhat popular in the UK. I don't know, if I am not popular, please humour me and say that I am (you know, I was never popular growing up, hehe).
Here in the UK most gay porn films get bought, but I believe in the USA the rental market it pretty big, why is that do you think?: I think people do a lot of illegal pirating of movies here so, to buy a porno at 70 US bucks when you can rent it for 5 US bucks and make a copy is more practical to people in the USA. Plus, our economy sucks right now, so people don't have a lot of money to spend.
I take it you and Chip Daniels are very much husband and husband and I take it you enjoy being his bottom, lol?: Chip and I were together for three years and broke up six months ago. I still love him, but I am no longer in love with him.

Do you think this might happen in future?: Not sure, but one can only hope it does.

I also have work lined up with Michael Brandon and Raging Stallion. Chip still is interested in casting me in our dream project "UPRISING".
How did you come to use "Sean Storm" as your porn boy name?: Sean comes from Sean Adams, a guy I had a major crush on. I then wanted my last name to have the same first letter of my first name, so I went through the phonebook and listed about ten names. I then showed the list to my first videographer at Citiboyz. Originally, it was "STORMER". He liked the STORM part, but advised me to drop the "ER" from the end of the name. Oh, I almost ditched his advise altogether and almost went with SEAN SEAGROVE, which now sounds weird, but for some reason I liked that last name at the time.
