Superb photo of Phil Hesslegrave,
or to give him his correct title, Captain Hesslegrave, at
the controls. Phil now lives in Los Angeles, having been
in the US of A for 20 years, 10 of them working as a
pilot. The aircraft is a Gulfstream IV and the photo was taken at Montreal while waiting for U2 to board. Yes, that's U2 the rock superstars, the company Phil flies for do quite a lot of music tours. Some guys have all the luck! |

a serious game of table football with son Ian. The Chad Valley Soccer Stadium was a 1970 Christmas present and as you can see is still going strong more than 30 years on. |

Available for parties and weddings. A face from the
BGS Rock Family Tree, Graham
Hornby (left) caressing his beloved 1981
G&L. The boy can still play, he sent me a couple of
MP3s, some nice blues licks. The day job is Software
Product Engineering Manager / deputy Head of Software for
a defence company. What more guitars! We seem to have started something here. Pictured right is Hugh Mett our second BGS Rock Family Tree representative. Taken at the Royal in Cleveleys it was a Blues Brothers tribute event, nice Gibson Les Paul Standard. During daylight hours Hugh is a teacher having recently forsaken his post at our beloved Baines' to become Head of Maths at Bispham High School. |

heard the name somewhere before. Steve Evans (left) and daughter Danielle. Steve is a Sergeant with the Sussex Constabulary in Eastbourne. He tells me he finally stopped growing at 6' 4" and has only recently retired from basketball. |

A moody Andy Greenwood (left)
contemplates another blown engine during a classic car trip through
Spain, France, Belgium and Holland a couple of years back. Andy still
lives and works in the Fylde, "somebody has to keep the
local hostelries in business," quote unquote. Selwyn Roberts (right) departed BGS in 1974 after O Levels when the family moved to Chester. His academic career took him to Cambridge then Oxford. Nowadays he is a consultant anaesthetist at Wythenshawe in Manchester. His main hobby is skiing, at least 3 weeks a year on the slippery slopes. Hence the nice alpine photo with youngest son Ellis. |

Surely not another guitar man. This time (left) it's BGS Rock
Family Tree legend Phil Walmsley still
going strong with Preston based rhythm and blues combo Lights Out. If you live in the North West check them
out.
A man in the news recently after his appointment as President of the North West Society of Chartered Accountants is Steve Riley (right). Once a goalkeeper extraordinaire (although a little weak on crosses!) nowadays a specialist in corporate advice and finance based in Preston. |

Thanks to Chris Birkett for sending in a couple
of excellent photos marking a reunion that took place in May 2003.
A walking weekend in the Lake District supplemented by more than a few beers, sounds great! The outdoor photo to the right was taken on top of Sergeant Man. No sniggering at the back, Sergeant Man is a Cumbrian mountain not a barrack square disciplinarian with dubious personal preferences! |
