Henry Brining
Son of William, silk dresser, and Betty Bryning (nee Cartmel) of Ellel, baptised 11th July 1813. 1841 Census shows Henry (silk dresser) with wife Esther, and children Ann 7, Elizabeth 6, Esther 3, Henry 1. From the age of the eldest child we assume that Henry and Esther must have married c1833. Sadly the Lancaster Registration District records show the death of an Ann Brining aged 7 in Lancaster during the Sept Quarter of 1841, not long after the Census was taken. Our Ann Brining was born in November 1841 and named in honour of her late sister. Henry must have died sometime between 1841-51 as he does not appear on any further Census records.
