Growth

When Cathy started out, she was a front person with D-Mob, she didn't write the song, she just sang it. The next song she was on was That's The Way Of The World which she co-wrote as well as sang on.

From here she went on to write two songs for her debut album Move To This, and then they just kept coming until she had written, or co-written, the whole album bar C'mon And Get My Love. The general sound was dancey pop and soulful ballads.

Cathy then wrote or co-wrote all of Into The Skyline, the second album had a rather slower, deeper sound than Move To This, and some of the songs were superb, the song was a step in the direction of American pop music, all very commercial. In making this step forward Cathy's music lost some of its identity, it was still a cut above all the rest, but rather less individual. She then went down the road further on Inspiration.

That album was aborted because it was too American for Cathy's taste, which had widened somewhat, from this new experience was born Am I The Kinda Girl, Cathy's most mature album, and a step away from the manufactured sound of popular soul style pop.

Cathy's music has grown and developed over time, someone who started as a great pop singer has diversified and even improved, now she's better than ever.
