Lyrics:

Wish on a rainbow is all I can do
Dream of the good times that we never knew
No late nights alone in your arms
I'll dream on
Living in wonder, thinking of you
Still looking for ways to uncover the truth
You're so young is all they can say
They don't know
If I could change the way of the world
I'd be your girl

Too many walls have been built in between us
Too many dreams have been shattered around us
If I seem to give up they'll still never win
Deep in my heart the strength is within

Watching the others chances drift by
They'll never discover these feelings I hide
Deep inside I'm falling apart
All alone with a broken heart
Thinking in silence is all they allow
These words still unspoken may never be found
All these dreams one day will be mine
They cross my mind
My time has yet to come
Until then

Too many walls have been built in between us
Too many dreams have been shatered around us
If I seem to give up
They'll still never win
Deep in my heart I know the strength is within

Repeat to fade...

Review

Too Many Walls provides me with a problem. It's Cathy's best song, and indeed my favourite song ever. The album version is beautiful, L'Autre mix isn't sufficiently different to matter, the video is just beautiful and the acoustic version is magical (a guitar on one speaker, Cathy on the other, that's all). The song can make me sad if I'm happy, or happy if I'm sad. When I hear it I'll stop to listen, no matter where I am. So, where's my problem?
It's too good. My scale only goes from 0 to 5. I'm trying to mark accurately (thus a lot of 3s and 4s and a couple of 5s), but Too Many Walls is so much better than everything else that it deserves better. A six out of five, but that would be stupid.
Rating... 6/5 and I don't care, it's that good.

Take me back to the index.
Take me back to the Discography.
Take me back to the listing for The Date.
Take me on to the listing for Touch Me (All Night Long).
