As a now established tradition, the group again arranged a New Years Day walk from The Ridge Pavillion in Kennington. In the past these walks have been led by one of the Group's founding members, Doug Lycett who's birthday just happens to be on 1 January!!. This year, however in respect of Doug's advancing years the walk was led by the Group's Programme Secretary, Roy Entwistle.
So on January 1st 2002, 30 members gathered in the Pavillion car park in brilliant sunshine and freezing temperatures. Ideal conditions for a walk along by the River Stour.
