| Huntingdon - Won 2-0
Huntingdon made local rivals St. Neots sweat for the first ten minutes of their Girls U15 East Hockey League game on Sunday. Huntingdon were awarded a penalty flick against the Saints within five minutes. The Huntingdon forward made an excellent flick, but keeper Jess de Bois managed to get a hand to the ball, and saved the goal.
The Saints defence were kept under intense pressure for a little while longer, with sweeper Katie Warmington (14), Laura King (13) and Charlotte Hall (13) working hard to clear their circle, and eventually the Saints pulled the game back to a more even keel.
Ten year old Alex Paske gets better with each game. Her workrate as right midfield was extraordinary, and despite a tendancy to drift into the centre, her attacking style of play and ability to get under the feet of the opposition and pop out with the ball more than made up for it. The rest of the team seem to take heart from her play, and never gave up on the attack.
Caroline Osbourne and Jessica Bradley have also improved, especially with the support of centre midfielder Emma King.
King broke the even match, with a strong goal just before halftime, with Nicole Bailey setting up King up for her second during the second half of the match.

| Cambridge City - Draw 0-0
St. Neots overcame a massive hurdle when they kept Cambridge City to a no-score draw on Sunday in the Girls U15 East League. Cambridge City are one of the strongest in the league and the Saints worked their hardest yet for their final league game this season.
| Man of the match was keeper Jess de Bois, with an outstanding performance in goal. Her reflexes were superb, particularly during a period of sustained pressure from Cambridge City, with half a dozen point blank shots on goal saved. Defenders Hannah King, Sofia MacKenzie-Ward and Katie Warmington also pulled out the stops in trying to clear the ball.
The Saints' match play has improved, playing as a unit, and thinking on their feet. The ball was played backwards to get out of difficult situations or to move into a better attacking position - thinking rarely seen in the senior ladies teams.
Keeley Mooney, Danielle Shipley and Alice Rigby worked hard up front to try for goal, but the youngsters were no match for the older City girls.

| Huntingdon - Won 4-0
The first local derby this year, with school-mates playing against each other, in the East Girls U15 League saw St. Neots come through comfortably.
Captain Sarah Crabtree led by example as centre midfield. Her tackling and distribution provided a solid foundation for the rest of the young team. Crabtree and Emma King talked their younger team-mates through the game, passing ball to everyone, whatever the level.
| Alex Paske was man of the match as right midfield. The ten-year-old showed no fear in tackling and winning the ball from the older opposition. With King and Crabtree providing encouragement Paske came close to scoring on several occasions. Keeley Mooney also produced a strong performance at left wing, backed up by Marnie Woolhead and Sofia MacKenzie-Reid.
Huntingdon looked dangerous on the break but Katie Warmington proved unbeatable in defence. The tall 14-year-old encouraged her defensive team to keep marking, and was admirably backed up in goal by Jess de Bois. However, it was the older girls that provided the St. Neots goals with Nicole Bailey continuing her excellent goalscoring run in the league with two goals against the visitors. Emma King produced the third, and nearly the fourth, which finally went in off a Huntingdon defender.
| March Town - Won 4-0
This was the fourth game this season against March Town, and St. Neots have won each time. With the team starting to tire after an earlier game several of the younger members left the field with injuries, including Alex Paske and Keeley Mooney. Alice Rigby and Emma-Jane Cody proved admirable replacements. Eleven year old Rigby played a strong wing position, with several solo runs from halfway to the visitors circle. Combined with centre forward Nicole Bailey March Town were put under extreme pressure, with Bailey picking up rebound after rebound from the March keeper's pads until the goal finally went in. By the half time break Bailey had scored three goals.
Catherine Barrett and Francis Alder have settled into their defensive roles this season, with Katie Warmington talking them through their moves. Their tackling and marking provided a huge hurdle for March's attempts at goal. St. Neots keeper Charlie Gillam had little to do for the whole game. Sofia MacKenzie-Reid and Marnie Woolhead worked hard in midfield, trying to support the older girls, and have learnt a lot in the last three months.
Several of the junior team should move up to the senior ladies third team next season due to their improvements this season.
Newcomer Ellen McQueen came on as left wing for the last ten minutes in her first game for St. Neots, and with 10-year-old Amy Crabtree provided fresh legs for the last attack on March. Emma King sealed the match with a one-on-one with the keeper, pushing the ball through her legs.

| Royston - Won 4-2
Newcomers Becca Nesbitt, Marnie Woolhead and twins Stephanie and Lindsay Moran worked hard in their first games for the young Saints side. St. Neots went two goals up by Nesbitt by half time, only to see Royston produce two goals just after the break to equalise. Nesbitt's solo runs, with good back-up by Woolhead and captain Emma King, created several more opportunities for the Saints to pull away, but they could not convert. Nesbitt finally sealed the match by scoring two more goals within five minutes of the end.
| Saffron Walden - Lost 2-1
New Saints keeper Leo Patel was man of the match when she made some outstanding saves against a much older experienced Saffron Walden team. Walden, who had just beaten Royston 14 - 0, were hard work for the Saints. Injuries to Becca Nesbitt, Sarah Crabtree, Danielle Shipley and a suspected broken wrist for Catherine Barrett failed to dent the Saints enthusiasm. Ten year old Amy Crabtree made some fine defensive tackles, backed up by Katie Warmington in a sweeper role.
The Walden keeper was kept busy as Sarah Crabtree's midfield tenacity kept the ball in the Walden defensive half. Forwards Nesbitt, Marnie Woolhead and Keeley Mooney kept the pressure on the Walden side, enabling Nicole Bailey to score the first goal in the match for the Saints. Walden came back just before the break to equalise, despite the best efforts of keeper Patel.
The play was end to end, with the Saints trying their best to mark the experienced Walden attackers out of the game. St. Neots were unlucky as two minutes from the end Walden scored the winning goal.
