Harp Mandolinetto

This instrument was influenced by a Knutsen harp mandolin from Gregg Miner's collection of instruments. This is a guitar shaped mandolin (mandolinetto) but with an extra four bass strings. The tuning is C, D, E, F, - G, D, A, E and thus it is like having a 5th course. What makes this instrument extra special is that it has a side port hole on the arm section of the harp and it makes an amazing difference. This is designed to projects the sound more directly to the player.
