Guitar & Mandolin Double Neck

Since I play both guitar and mandolin as do many others musicians, it would be nice to have both at hand in front of you rather than picking one up and putting the other down. This special instrument is a wonderful tool for song writing and quite simply you would look amazingly cool playing one. It is an instrument that every folk and rock musician needs in their arsenal. There is a slight change to the original design and that was to extend the mandolin fingerboard to 20 frets where the original one had 18 frets. The instrument pictured here has...

  • This instrument incorporates The Wedge©™, a design innovation by Linda Manzer. Normally with an instrument such as a double neck the instrument sits very up right because of it's width. You could lean over the instrument but that will give you a bad posture. With Manzer's Wedge ©™ design, it makes the instrument comfortable to play and without leaning over you can look down and see both fret boards clearly. The wedge doesn't effect the sound of the instrument either.
  • Pickups: This instrument also has a custom made K&K stereo pickup installed. One channel for guitar the other for the mandolin.
  • Below and right is a video I made using the double neck. The tune I wrote 'The Grove' was also recorded on the instrument. I recorded the tune first and filmed myself playing over the top of it.
