Brad Hoyt is a composer, pianist and harp guitarist who has performed and recorded extensively in America and Europe. In addition to the piano, he plays the one-of-a-kind Sedgwick 30-string arpa viola caipira, a 'harp guitar version' of a Brazilian folk guitar. Recently Brad released "Together Alone", a highly acclaimed album of piano/harp guitar duets featuring some of North America's best fingerstyle harp guitarists which included Muriel Anderson, John Doan, Antoine Dufour, Jeff Titus and Don Alder among others. After hosting the 8th Harp Guitar Gathering, Brad will focus on recording a new album that will go beyond the piano / harp guitar duet format of his first album and will feature himself on both arpa viola caipira and piano with a diverse and unique combination of musicians.

This harp guitar was made for Belgium multi instrumentalist Paul Oorts. Paul now lives in America and also teaches as part of... www.musicaltraditions.com

Paul performs at concerts and festivals both in the USA and in Europe. His wife is hammered dulcimer player Karen Ashbrook. This instrument can be heard on Karen's album 'Spring Will Comes' and also on Jody Marshall's Carol Of The Bells.

Paul's harp guitar is based on Joe Morgan's instrument. It also has a Sitka spruce soundboard but without the bearclaw. Honduras Mahognay back and sides, which were stained a darker brown.

Joe Morgan made an album with hammered dulcimer player David Moran. 'I Wish They Hadn't Done That'. Their second album 'On Their Best Behavior' features this harp guitar on 5 tracks.

Joe also organised the The Winter Festival of Acoustic Music which is held in Irving, Texas, USA in February each year.

This Sitka spruce sound board has beautiful 'bearclaw' figure. It also features a cutaway and ebony trim. The standard model wouldn't feature the bearclaw or the cutaway. The Hounduras Mahogany back and sides have beautiful straight grain, you could put a ruler next to it. It also has 19 frets on the treble side. The bass head and guitar heads are joined. It has a Nitrocellulose lacquer. Joe later installed a 'Pick-up-the-World' pickup.

Simon Wahl, born in 1989, is a young solo guitarist from Bonn (Germany). He already has one album out called 'A Language Called Music' (2010) which contains 12 compositions in modern fingerstyle. This autumn he will start a study of classical guitar in Freiburg (Germany) with professor Sonja Prunnbauer.

Now he also plays a custom made Sedgwick harp guitar with a Sitka Spruce top and mahagony back and sides. It has a larger body size than the “m” – and “Sedgwick” harpguitar. The sound is big and warm. The K&K pure western pickup is installed for a naturally stage sound.

This harp guitar was commissioned by producer/recording engineer/singer/songwriter Kim Person. Her and Lana Puckett had a great review in Performing Songwriter's December issue for their Wistaria Studio, which is a division of Cimirron/Rainbird Recording.

For solo acoustic guitar recordings, Kim has recorded/co-produce all of Stephen Bennett's recordings. Also recorded Larry B's CD 'Reflect On' which featured several harp guitar pieces and she has recorded/produced a number of Tommy Emmanuel's CDs.

For singer/songwriters in the acoustic realm, she has recorded/co-produced grammy nominated songwriter, Pam Rose's CD "Morpheus", Michael Lille's CD "Middle Child". Michael works for Gore and is the artist liason representing Elixir strings. Kim Person & Lana Puckett, have their own CDs "At Christmas the Heart Goes Home" and "Windows of Life".

Singer-songwriter, Rick Sky released his solo CD ~ I’ll Meet You There ~ in May 2010. Produced by Rick in his Celestial Moonscape Studios in North Eastern, USA, it is a collection of 11 original Songscapes created to transport audiences to a place of serenity and reflection. This CD features acoustic guitars, native flutes, world percussion and ambient keyboards, all played by Rick Sky.

Rick’s Sedgwick Harp Guitar was delivered in June 2010 following an exciting collaboration of design and creation. It features 7 fretted strings and 6 sub bass strings, with an extended fret board giving this instrument a full 5 octave range, D to D. The design allows 16 frets clear to the body on the treble side plus an angled bridge to increase the scale lengths supporting the lowest sub base strings.

The East Indian Rosewood back and sides were reclaimed from architectural verandah posts in India. The European Spruce top is a great match for the rosewood, giving this petite harp guitar a wonderful voice.
