9 Ayr Lane, St Ives

Our cottage is located in a short terrace of granite cottages which overlook a beautiful walled garden that borders the Barbara Hepworth Museum in the heart of the old town of St. Ives. Ayr Lane is a quiet road which runs from Fore Street (St Ives most attractive shopping street). It is about ten minutes walk from the railway station, and bus terminus and five minutes walk from the main taxi rank. It is also a short walk to each of St. Ives four beautiful beaches and only 3 minutes to the Harbour.
The lighthouse, which you can see in the distance from the front of the cottage, looking down the hill over the harbour is the famous Godrevy lighthouse of Virginia Wolfe’s ‘To the Lighthouse.’
The Lane is not suitable for car parking although pulling up to unload is fine. There are two public car parks within reasonable but hilly walking distance. A £25 ticket lasts all week and allows you to come and go from the car parks in the town.
However, having a holiday in St. Ives without a car is easy. The railway journey to St Ives is very picturesque along the coast from St Erth.
Buses are frequent and fairly reliable from St Ives to all areas. The buses can be to used to get you to or from the start or finish of the many good local walks.
Shopping is also easy without a car since there is a Co-op and delicatessen within easy walking distance of the cottage.
