St Ives (Cornish: Porth Ia) is a seaside town, situated at the south-western tip of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The town lies north of Penzance, and west of Camborne.
With miles of magnificent coastal scenery, warm summers and Britain’s mildest climate, St. Ives is the perfect holiday destination for all seasons. Supporting tranquil sub-tropical gardens and country lanes that are hedged with wild honeysuckle, foxgloves, montbretia and fuschias.
In former times it was commercially dependent on fishing as an industry. The decline in fishing, however, has caused a shift in commercial emphasis and the town is now primarily a holiday resort, famous for it's artists' community and home to the Tate St Ives Gallery of Modern Art and the Barbara Hepworth Museum.
St Ives has been named best seaside town of 2007 by the Guardian.
