This  website is a  work  in  progress and  not that well organized and
will constantly be changing.
My  excuse is that I  see this  as  a type
of scrap book. Also I would
like to  encourage  other  wannabe
webpage  creators  into  using
free  software. The next  camera
I decide to write about  will result
in  a more  polished webpage.
I  am still  on a steep learning curve
on how to  use  Linux
which is great fun.   For those interested in  totally free

software I suggest the following.

KOMPOZER    UBUNTU    PUPPY    SEAMONKEY    VLC

 NVU    DIGIKAM    GIMP    JALBUM    UFRAW

For MS Windows (or Windoz)  users I suggest

 Gimp    Paintdotnet  Irfanview  Xnview   Photoscape

I would advise MS Windows (or Windoz!)  users to try PhotoScape as
it is the best if a  tad awkward to use free photo editor. If you want
something more conventional try Gimp, Xnview, Irfanview or the

Paint.net option. These I think are the best and quickest way to
get
into free  photo  editing  without wasting  loads of  money on
rubbish like Paint Shop Pro,
Elements or Photoshop.
Most free software is also available
for the Apple  Mac OS.
Most Linux software  is also  available  in  Windows
and  Mac flavours.

Do an  internet  search and  you will be  amazed what you can get
for nothing. You should remember that the spirit of the internet as
first perceived was to freely and openly share information and not make
money! Try these websites for free stuff, running Windows Software
 in Linux and Antivirus.

Voigtlander brilliant TLR Camera

My This is my first camera dating from the early 1970's. It is an East German
made
35mm Beirette with a simple Priomat shutter and a 45mm f2.9
E.Ludwig Meritar triplet lens. It is marked "Made in GDR;
(German Democratic Republic). It was sold by Boots the chemist. It is
one
of the most underrated cameras albeit one of the cheapest
available at the time.
Photo edited in Photoscape running in
Wine under Browser Puppy linux.

For those who do not know me,  I am apparently an avid yet skinflintish
camera  collector  who has a penchant for   Eastern European cameras.
My  main interest is  in collecting and  using rangefinder  cameras from
the golden era of photography which  is roughly from the  mid 1930's to
the  early  1960's.    You can  contact me at the  following email address
but  please be patient as I cannot respond instantly. Or you can send
me a message in flickr mail and as I am addicted to
this site I will respond more quickly!
