Stringers is a family business - run from home - specialising in racquet restringing and repair. Initially, five or so years ago, I started stringing racquets just for those in and around my own club in Arbroath, Scotland.
Since then, this has spread throughout the local area and we now string racquets for many Clubs and Institutions (as well as for individuals) in the Tayside area of Scotland.
Over the last 18 months we have strung of the order of 800 racquets in total - tennis , squash and badminton.
A few months ago, as a result of the high number of restrings being carried out (by myself and my wife) , we took the decision to expand. This included upgrading to an electronic stringing machine (left) and offering our services online.
Since offering a mail order service we have steadily seen the demand increase - and sincerely hope that, given the correct level of service - our online service will become as successful as our local service currently is.
The reasoning behind offering an online service is fairly simple - being based at home we do not have the overheads of other racquet based companies that offer a stringing service - and we can , therefore, offer a much cheaper service. This is done with the help of Royal Mail and Parcelforce who we find give the cheapest and most reliable mail delivery service.
