My name is Stuart Smith, I'm 27 and living in Oxford. I'm doing the mature thing and living with my girlfriend.
I currently work for a very well known telecoms company who I won't mention. I have been interested in photography for the past 6/7 years. I am by no means a professional photographer and don't pretend to be. I just have a love of taking photos. Having said that I have done some work that has been used in brochures and people who have seen my work say they like it. Who am I to argue.
It's only recently I have developed an interest in computers. I have been on the net for about a year or so but created my first web site in July. This was created using frontpage express and is mainly a travel/photography site. Please fell free to visit it sometime. So as well as a love of photography I love to travel. So far I have only been to Europe. Skiathos, Kefalonia, Portugal, Malta, Monaco to name a few. Sometime in the not too distant future (hopefully) my girlfriend and I plan to visit the States for 3/4 weeks. She has been before and loved it so we now plan to go together. We plan to visit Washington, New York (for the shopping) and maybe visit Canada. I would also like to visit New Orleans. I still say that the UK has some of the best scenery in the world though. There are still many locations here I would love to visit. The thing called work has a nasty habit of getting in the way though. So the love of photography and travel go hand in hand.
I love the creative side of things and thought I would learn more about web design. I am currently at college studying html, director, photoshop, quark and illustrator. This keeps me very busy as I'm sure you can imagine. As soon as I can master these I'll go on to learn Javascript, flash etc. E-commerce also beckons. I believe that in the UK we are still getting to grips with the internet and in a couple of years time the whole thing will explode. I think now is a very good time to get into it. Hopefully in the not too distant future this will lead to a new career.
The other time consuming thing in both our lives is the decorating of the house and the landscaping of the garden. I've never known so much hard work. Still I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end.
