The first task was to delete the sky using the magic wand tool. The sky was selected.
For areas that the magic wand didn't select the shift key was held down to add to the
selection. Some areas that were too small to pick up I painted in, using the quick mask mode. A feather setting of 1 pixel was used to soften the edge. Once I was happy with the selection edit cut deleted the sky. Edit fill was used to paint the sky with black. The next step was to light the building. By using the lighting effects filter I wanted to create the effect of the building being lit by spotlights. Selecting a triple spotlight and experimenting with the settings and the colour of the light gave me the effect I wanted. After moving the firework onto the Acropolis picture, the image was far too big. Using edit free transform and holding the shift key down enabled me to resize the image whilst maintaining proportions. The black background of the fireworks was covering some of the Acropolis. To delete this, the eraser tool was used. The picture was then cropped into a square format and the layers flattened. Hey presto, the Acropolis at night. |
