This page is to let you know about latest events regarding S.w.a.m.p. |
| 21.11.06 | S.w.a.m.p. will be playing it's last gig at The King William IV pub at Fenstanton. It was at this pub 3 years
ago that Bill Terry played his last gig with the band in July 2003 and also where Ken Scullard was introduced in October 2003. We hope that
as many of you as possible can make it done on Wednesday 29th November.

| 21.06.06 | Well, we are nearly into July, which will be our busiest month so far. 4 gigs starting on the 1st
with the Party in the Park at Sutton. Will the England football team have as many as us in July? Wait with baited breath.
August is our month off, we will be getting ready for the Autumn return of cool temperatures, and then ten gigs or so to
see out the year. Better start learning Solstice Bells for the Yule. Happy Summer solstice, enjoy the summer.

| 28.03.06 | We had a very enjoyable gig at the Melbourn Rock Club on Friday 24th March to an appreciative audience.
We will be playing there again in September. Many thanks to Morris for asking us to play.

| 03.03.06 | After the addition of a gig on Saturday 11th of March we now have a very busy week ahead. 3 gigs in the space of
7 days. See the Giglist for full details.

| 27.02.06 | Last Friday's gig at the British Queen went down well again but this time it was a little different. We played
for the first time without Pete, he was called away on business to the West Indies on Wednesday at short notice (so short he did not pack
his sun-tan lotion and now has a sunburnt head). Pete's place was taken by Philip Holloway (14 years old) on guitar, some changes to the set
were required due to the lack of Keyboards and Flute but the old
Timebeats set provided us with plenty of tunes to play. Philip
did a grand job playing both lead and rhythm. Big thanks to Philip from the entire band.

| 07.02.06 | Last Saturday saw us playing at The Crown & Cushion in Great Gransden again. We added 2 new songs to
the set. The first was "Afterglow" by Genesis and the second was an instrumental version of "Whole Lotta Love" by Led
Zeppelin/CCS with a slight re-arrangement by S.w.a.m.p.

| 17.01.06 | We recently returned to play at the Aviator in St Ives with a posse of volunteer roadies. By the time the second
set was underway tables were pushed aside and the dancers moved in as renditions of old favourites Smoke on the Water and Born to be Wild
were enthusiastically celebrated - even some people pogoing at one point. The band also proved that time travel is possible in certain
circumstances with another improbable rendition of the 1969 classic, In The Court of the Crimson King. Earlier in the evening the Pink
Floyd classic, Another Brick In The Wall Part II, was also well received with all those not-so-happy memories of school recalled as
everyone joined in the chorus. Oh well, another gig done and where better to round off the evening but the kebab van on the Caxton Bypass.

| 08.12.05 | I'm back from 17 days in a snowy USA and getting ready for this Saturday's Gig at The British Legion, Fordham.
This has become something of a tradition for the band with a special Christmas time show with 3 sets including some 60's dance stuff. We have added yet more dates to next years schedule. See the Giglist for full details. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you all. Stuart Pledger. |
| 04.11.05 | Next week will see S.w.a.m.p. play their penultimate gig for 2005 at The Crown and Cushion at Great Gransden.
This is because Stuart will be in America for the end of November, beginning of December period. See the Giglist
for up to date information. Also the Complete Song List
has been updated with the addition of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here". We have had many requests for this song and we will
be adding it to the set in December.

| 24.10.05 | Last Friday saw the band playing at The Bitish Queen at Meldreth once again. We had another very enjoyable
evening playing there and it was great to see the audience getting bigger each time we visit. The new songs are going down well and we
had many requests for various songs which we don't actually do but some of which we will be investigating further. We have added some
pictures from our gig at the Social Club, Hardwick.

| 04.10.05 | A major apology to everyone who has been incovenienced by incorrect information on the
Giglist. Unfortunately, I have had big problems sorting out my internet access and hence have not been able to
keep the pages up to date. This is now sorted and the Giglist has been corrected.

| 01.07.05 | Still on a roll after last nights gig at The Crown & Cushion , a memorable gig, with Stuart's guitar
playing described by one punter as "awesome". Mick pounded out the drums despite the heat, with a noticeable roar as
"Fanfare" concluded his solo. Pete was asked to add the recorder to his list of instruments (no chance getonwivit). We have two
new venues to look forward to in July; hopefully our fine tuned set should bring us more success and repeat bookings. Time off in August
will see us add new material and hopefully a recording of the set on CD. The beat rolls on....

| 12.05.05 | Well here we are 5 months in to 2005 with 8 gigs played so far and 5 new songs in the ever changing set (sorry
Pete). Ken has been busy getting gigs in new venues for us and it looks as if we will have our best year yet as we already have 21 gigs
booked so far (see the Giglist for further details). We all went out the other weekend to have some pictures taken
for use on posters etc and the results were very good. Thanks to Joni Pledger for taking them for us. See you at a gig near you soon. Mick Holloway. |
| 15.04.05 | We have had a busy couple of months since my last entry on the news page. Playing lots of gigs with many more in
the pipeline. We are now averaging a gig every 2 weeks. Lots of different places
(many new to the band, thanks Ken!), see the Giglist for further details. Also we have been working on new songs
and having fun with different set lists. Songs recently added include Gypsy (Uriah Heep), Black Night (Deep Purple), 21st Century Schizoid
Man - Excerpt (King Crimson), And You and I - Excerpt (Yes). Click on the link for a Current Song List.

| 02.02.05 | Lots of gigs coming in at some new venues (at last!), see the Giglist for further
details. Also keep an eye on the dates as we have already had to reschedule a couple of gigs to fit in better with other commitments. I
will be posting some pictures from recent gigs in the next few days. Stuart Pledger. |
