After the demise of "Out Of The East", the various
members went their seperate ways forming short lived groups or helping out with other bands.
However, shortly after I met Mick through work (in 1983), I began jamming with a nucleus of Mick, Pete, Bob and myself. At the beginning
of 1984, Graham was persuaded to re-join the fold, alongside Chris, with whom he had been working on an electro-pop outfit called
"Camera Shy".
The band wrote almost all our own material with just one or two covers
thrown in to give the audience something to latch onto, these included covers of "Ain't No Sunshine" and "I shot the
Sheriff". But our own material was of primary importance. The majority of lyrics being provided by Mick, while Pete and Chris,
provided the music. I did manage to 'sneak' a couple of ideas into their tunes and even contributed the music to another "On The
Edge". This was to be my first serious songwriting effort since the days of my first post 6th form band "Masque".
The band split on August 8th 1984 when Chris and Graham went back to writing songs as a duo, only later to reform a new version of
"Camera Shy" soon afterwards.
