During the summer of 1990 I had been invited to play at an event held
every year at a pub in Hemingford. The organiser of the band Olaf Laos (guitar) had played the event for several years and each year would
invite people he knew to form a band especially for it. "The Hemingford
Band" for this year included Dan Soar from "Strontium" and Steve Jackson. The band needed a drummer so I bought
in Mick. We rehearsed for about 4 Saturdays before the event and it turned out to be a fun evening.
The set consisted of various AC/DC songs, Cheap Trick, Bad Company, Deep Purple and lots of other stuff which goes under the category of
hoary old classics! Despite only a few weeks rehearsal a reasonable performance was put on and we were encouraged enough to think about
doing something on a more permenant basis.
This "one-off" gig band turned into "Livin' Dangerous"
when Mick - who was already playing in "Cheat" with Phil Brown (ex "The Axe Band") and Nigel Pink
(ex "Force 9") - was replaced by Phil Bryant (also ex "Strontium"). |
