Official opening of Lesbury Bridge

The opening of the bridge was slightly behind schedule but traffic is now flowing freely across it.
This is the engineering staff of the Lesbury bridge project, assembled for the last time on the day the bridge was officially opened.

The opening of the bridge was officiated by the Chairman of the County Council of Northumberland Mr. John Morris and Mrs. Morris. In the photo below with Mr. and Mrs. Morris is County Councillor H. Philipson resident of Lesbury.
After the ceremony all the invited guests moved to the Village Hall for the speeches and in the photo below councillor H.Philipson is making a speech. Mrs. Morris received a bouquet of flowers which was presented by a pupil of the first school, all the pupils from the school were also invited to attend the cutting of the tape.
All the pupils and guests received a Mug to commemorate the official opening, courtesy of NMP (Northumberland Mowlem Partnership).
