Directions

and Parking

These are directions for travelling by car.  For information about travelling to Fowey by public transport go to the Fowey Tourist Information Centre website (www.fowey.co.uk).  Click on  Local Information at the top of the page then click on Directions and Maps.   Visit their Public Transport page for information about how to get around during your stay.

·                Travelling West on the A390 between Lostwithiel and St Austell, turn left for Fowey onto the B3269 at Lanlivery.

·                In approximately 4.5 miles you will come to a mini roundabout by a Texaco garage.  Cross straight over (signed coach and car park). (Do not go left for the Bodinnick Ferry)

Location of Old Lifeboat Station Apartment

·                As you approach the town you will see the road bears right for the “main” car park.

·                Continue straight on down the hill into the town - very narrow with sharp left-hand bend at the bottom.  Keeping Barclays Bank on your right, pass the church and Tourist Information/Daphne du Maurier Centre on your left and HSBC Bank on your right.  Opposite the Chemist’s shop there is a marked “loading only” bay just outside the Globe bistro – you may be able to stop there to unload (officially this is for trade vehicles only but we understand the traffic warden will be flexible as long as nobody stays longer than a few minutes to load or unload).  Alternatively, there is a small short-term car park on Albert Quay - a few yards further on the right.

·                Access to the apartment is between the Chemist’s shop and the Bakery and precise directions and details re. keys etc. will be provided with the confirmation of booking, once a booking and deposit have been received.

      Parking

There is no long-term parking in the town centre but you have some options.  Once unloaded you can go to Caffa Mill car park near the Bodinnik Ferry - just follow the road through the town to the other end and you can’t miss it.   A few yards beyond Caffa Mill there is a private car park run by the Fowey Harbour Commissioners.  To get to the “main” car park follow the road through the town, past Caffa Mill and the FHC car parks, and take the one way system round the top of the town to bring you back to the road you came in on.  In the season there is a town bus from the central car park.

Please note:  Tickets for the Caffa Mill and the Main car parks are not valid in the FHC car park and vice-versa.
