……. is considered by many to be one of the most attractive and unspoiled areas on the South coast. The river Fowey rises on Bodmin Moor and meanders through wonderful countryside towards Fowey’s natural harbour and the sea. Many fascinating hours can be spent just watching the river. The huge China Clay boats regularly pass by on their way to the loading wharf up-river and to see the tugs turn these boats in the entrance to Pont Pil (the creek just opposite the apartment window) is a sight well worth watching. |

A wide variety of craft uses the river, from the water taxis and working boats to pleasure craft, whether small dinghys or truly impressive yachts – and occasionally ocean liners! |
