In Memory of Jethro

We found Jethro in a rescue kennel at Leysdown. He was about 8 weeks old when we collected him. Jethro was born at the kennel, his mother, a Labrador, had been brought in as a stray. I had been to see Jethro Tull in concert the day before we saw him, so Jethro was the first name I thought of and he was stuck with it from then. Jethro's father was unknown, but as he grew we were quite sure he was an Alsation or similar breed. Jethro was very intelligent and took no time at all to train in the basics. He was extremely protective of all of us and an integral part of our lives. We sadly lost Jethro on 4th May 1999 when, after a long battle, he lost the use of his back legs. Jethro brought us 11 years of happiness and we were all devastated by his loss. We vowed never to have another dog. I am so glad we changed our minds.
