Cinzia Aymaretti Camia - "Gran Pamir" I have always been into Afghans, when in 1951 my parents introduced the breed in Italy and some years later got the very first official AH kennel name registered in Italy, making "Gran Pamir" a family affair throughout the years. I studied first Theatre Literature and Veterinary Science afterwards I got a Kennel Manager license, then I also studied also Cynology, mostly related to Sighthounds and to every aspect of our beloved breed. |
I'm a writer for magazines, encyclopedias and specialised It.KC /Enci publications, also providing Technical Studies about AH & Borzoi Standards., the last of them being my Proposal for a Unique International AH Standard which I was pleased to introduce, invited as an Official Speaker, to the SA AH World Congress 2005 attendees and present to FCI
committee. In 1977 I was the promoter and a foundation member of the official AH It. Club AIALA being since then the Secretary, Chairman, member of the Board of Directory and President (for 10 years) until 1999. In 1991 I wrote the first and only Italian book ever published about AHs, "Il LEVRIERO AFGHANO".I started my judging career in the '80s, being approved to judge All Breed Open Shows and Agility Dog Competitions. In 1987 I got my Int. FCI license as AH & Borzoi Breeder/specialist judge and after for the Sighthound FCI Gr10.
I got assignements all over Europe, USA and Australia being honoured to judge amongst others: the French National d'Elevage, the Finnish SA-FA, the Swedish Skokloster /Tammsvik, the Long Island NewYork (Westminster weekend), the Sydney Specialty, the first Euro Sighthound Winner in Donaueschingen (Germany). One of my next judging assignments in 2006 will be the Italian Greyhound Club 50th Anniversary Show in Italy in July.I've been married since 1977 to Sergio, who was "obliged " to love Afghans besides, I hope, me. We have got 2 beautiful daughters now aged 24 (Eleonora) & 22 (Emanuela) who are hopefully going to be the 3rd Gran Pamir generation. Emanuela is known as our show handler and as a clever layout/web designer being webmaster of websites, amongst she runs the online magazine "The Afghan Hound Post" and our own Gran Pamir's.
Although sparingly breeding and showing. with a small family activity, we have owned, bred &/or produced also for others breeders about 70 Champions, most of them in Conformation with many Producers & some Lure Coursing ones CHs breaking many records in the history of the breed in Italy (including Borzois, that we bred for about 25 years since 1969; during the years we have also owned Belgian Shepherds, a Whippet, a Yorkshire Terrier).
We live with 10 beloved AHs joined by a Shihtzu & a Bolognese ladies in Turin (I), the 2006 Olympic Winter Games City where Passion is a way of life!
